I'm Rachy, a nature enthusiast with a passion for observing the wildlife that shares our little corner of Alabama.

What started as casually watching birds in the backyard quickly turned into a fascination with documenting the animals, behaviors, and unexpected moments happening just outside our door. From nesting Carolina Wrens and curious squirrels to butterflies, songbirds, changing seasons, and everything in between, there's always something new to discover.

Alabama Nature Notes was created as a place to share those discoveries through photos, videos, wildlife journals, and personal observations. My goal isn't just to showcase beautiful wildlife, but to tell the stories behind it—the nesting journeys, the daily routines, the surprises, and the challenges that nature presents.

❓Why I Started This Website

I believe nature is often overlooked because we're busy with everyday life. Taking a few moments to watch a bird build a nest, observe a butterfly visiting flowers, or notice seasonal changes can reveal an incredible world that's been there all along.

By sharing these moments, I hope to inspire others to slow down, look around, and develop a greater appreciation for the wildlife and natural beauty that surrounds them.
